Do's
· Immediately switch off all lights and electrical appliances - home, shop, vehicle, mobile flashlight, etc.
· Turn off inverters and generators so that external light is eliminated.
· Close curtains on windows and doors so that light does not visible outside.
· If driving a vehicle, immediately pull over and stop, turn off headlights and indicators.
· Keep all family members in a safe place - especially children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
· Keep listening to government instructions via radio, mobile, or other mediums.
· Alert neighbors, especially those living alone.
· Keep essential medicines and items like torches ready in advance.
· Listen carefully to Civil Defence Volunteers.
Don'ts
· Do not light any kind of light during a blackout - candles, torches, lighters, etc.
· Do not go out on the road or make noise.
· Do not keep the vehicle running or its lights on.
· Do not spread rumors or share misleading information - not even on social media.
· Do not make phone calls without essential reasons - do not jam emergency service lines.
· Do not touch or pick up any suspicious object.
· Do not gather in groups or form a crowd.
· Do not disregard government instructions.
